工科公共数学课程是工科专业学生必修的基础课,主干课程(高等数学、线性代数、概率统计)教学周期长达一年半到两年,学生的许多后续课程几乎都与此相关,并且对学生的抽象思维能力、计算能力和逻辑推理能力的培养也有着重要的作用,同时还是研究生入学考试时的重要考试课程。所以,工科公共数学课程教学工作的质量,直接关系并影响到学生后续课程的学习和将来的发展。但是,由于各种原因公共课的课时被严重压缩的现象普遍存在,教师和学生在课堂教学过程中疲于应付,难以取得理想的教学效果。教学改革也喊了多年但一直没有实质性的进展,究其原因关键在于没有一套完整的配套措施,而单一的方法和手段独木难支,孤掌难鸣,不能产生有效的结果。

Teaching reform also shout for years but has no substantive progress, the key reason lies in the lack of a complete set of measures, methods and means of a single article, cannot clap with one hand, can not produce valid results.

我们对过往的工作进行了思考和阶段性小结,在不断完善课程建设和教学手段的同时,更有利于明确目标开展下一步工作,避免盲目行事。通过多方面调查研究和多年的教学实践,我们深刻体会到:教学改革不应该是空中楼阁、空穴来风,应该具有科学性,符合教学规律,避免急功近利,应该用科学发展观指导教学改革。在此基础上,本着科学、客观的态度,实施了一整套切实有效的改革措施。

(1) to further clarify the goal of teaching reform: the goal of teaching reform is not only related to the school running characteristics and the concept of teachers, but also relates to the cultivation objective. Common course of math is the basic course of all engineering students in elementary mathematics, completely solve some problem in the re understanding and (such as a function of the nature, extreme value, monotonicity, image, convergence of series, etc.) through learning other knowledge (such as limit, differential, integral, etc.) for students to lay a solid foundation for learning other subjects. Engineering students being the engineering staff after graduation, need to be good at the problem from the aspect of the insight, abstract and research, thinking logic and rigor, training needs to solve practical problems with mathematical principles and methods of consciousness, interest and ability of thinking and innovation etc.. Therefore, our teaching reform should aim to make students master the basic theory and method of mathematics, especially the way of thinking; master the knowledge and skills and intellectual development, especially the development of creative ability; to encourage teachers to actively participate in the reform of teaching, teaching research, also become the teaching reform of income, real form of teaching the interaction of teaching and learning and the "win-win" in a good situation.

(2) to create a reasonable conditions for the reform of teaching: teaching reform should have scientific sex, we conform to the rules of teaching, cooperative teaching management department carried out a lot of research, fully understand the public mathematics curriculum of many universities in the province of teaching situation, combined with the specific situation of the school, from grade 2010 start adding the various professional mathematics school of mechanical and electrical college curriculum teaching hours, school for Public Mathematics Curriculum attaches importance to provide a good platform for our course construction and teaching reform. At the same time, the school classroom teaching, teaching research, teaching reform work and achievements to a hitherto unknown height, as an important index of teachers annual assessment and evaluation of professional titles, greatly encouraged the teachers to participate in teaching research and teaching reform initiative. 在鼓励教师们在提高自身专业素养的同时,定期进行教学经验交流;注重师资队伍建设,45岁以下的教师具有研究生学历达到100%,35岁以下的教师正逐步博士化。在2009年的全校青年教师授课竞赛中,取得了第一名的好成绩,并代表学校参加了湖北省青年教师授课竞赛,取得了优胜奖。

(4)注重提高学生的兴趣,引导学生掌握适合于自身的学习方法:学生作为教学的客体或者说接受者,其素养主要与智力、兴趣、学习方法有关。但现阶段通过高考选拔的胜出者其智力性因素不是问题的关键所在。基于学生对数学价值的认识和数学本身的魅力,培养学生具有一种最现实、最活跃带有强烈感情色彩的学习动机,改变学生对数学的厌烦心理,解除数学对学生的精神压力,创造出一种比较轻松愉快的心态环境。帮助学生尽快地熟悉大学数学处理问题的方法,学习应遵循的程序,引导学生学习观念的转变,使它们从中学阶段初等数学狭隘的经验的教学中解脱出来,去面对高等的、一般的、抽象的数学,这种飞跃正是学生开始进入学习、发展思维,提高技能与技巧,充分发挥学习潜能的阶段,是从处理个别与具体问题转变到一般的抽象问题的质的飞跃。

坚持每年进行全校数学竞赛即数学建模竞赛选拔,从2009年开始,组队参加全国大学生数学竞赛湖北赛区的比赛,并于2010年在同类院校中取得了优异的成绩(省级一等奖3人,二等奖5人,三等奖5人);2011年更是取得了全国一等奖的突破性成绩(省级一等奖3人,二等奖5人,三等奖9人);同年,数学建模竞赛也一改参赛多年成绩不够突出的状态,取得了全国一等奖的突破。极大地鼓舞了师生们数学课程教学的积极性。

注重教学细节,充实习题课:在适当增加课时的同时,增加习题课或课堂讨论,作为实现教学目标,加强师生交流,促进教学互动,巩固相关章节内容的手段;及时讲解作业中出现的错误,并分析缘由,尤其是同一题错误答案较多时,应从不同的方面加以分析,解决习题中的典型错误。

围绕公共数学课程教学改革,我们进行了大量的卓有成效的工作,倾注了老师们大量的心血,脚踏实地地做了许多具有实际意义的工作,随着工作的深入开展,各种教学资料从无到有,由简至精,课程教学受到学生普遍欢迎和好评。通过各种综合性手段改进教学各个环节,在教学方法、教学手段、教材建设、师资队伍建设及教学配套工作取得了显著成效,取得了阶段性的成果。我们希望通过几年的教学质量工程建设工作,能够促进课程建设,完善教学改革,推动公共数学课程教学的良性循环。
