Abstract
The Old Man and the Sea, a masterpiece by Ernest Hemingway, is profound and far-reaching. Many scholars and critics have tried to study this writing from different angles, such as the theme, tragedy and delightfulness, image of Santiago and so on. As we know, being distinguished from many greatest American writers, Hemingway is noted for his writing style. Among all his works, The Old Man and the Sea is the most typical one which can show his unique writing style, so this paper tries to analyze Hemingway style in The Old Man and the Sea from the stylistic angles.
First, feature of the language. We can easily find the language in The Old Man and the Sea is very simple and natural. Hemingway always chooses the words which are concrete, specific, more commonly used and conversational, but actually the simple language is deliberate and artificial. The simplicity is highly suggestive, and it often reflects the strong undercurrent of emotion. Second, “the principle of the iceberg”, meaning that “seven-eighths” of the story lies below the surface parts that show(Guo,2005). The Old Man and the Sea reflects Hemingway’s efforts to reduce his language and convey the meanings by using a few and simple words..
In a word, The Old Man and the Sea is a perfect example of Hemingway’s unique writing style.

美国著名作家海明威的代表作《老人与海》内涵丰富,许多学者和评论家从不同的方面对这部著作进行了长期的研究,比如作品的主题,悲喜色彩和主人公圣地亚哥的形象等等。众所周知,在众伟大的美国作家中,海明威以独特的写作风格而著称。在他所有的作品当中,《老人与海》是最能体现他独特写作风格的著作。因此,本文将从文学文体学的角度对海明威风格在《老人与海》中的体现进行全面系统的分析。
首先,语言特色方面,我们不难发现《老人与海》中的语言非常简洁自然。海明威在用词方面常用精确简单的词汇,非常通俗化口语化,但事实上,小说简洁自然的语言背后隐藏了深刻的意义和感情,语言看似普通简洁,但其实丰富而优美。其次,“冰山原则”,即八分之一露出水面,八分之七则含而不露,这就给读者留下了巨大的想象和思维的空间。《老人与海》反映出了海明威在精练语言以及用最简练的词汇传达出深刻的内涵上的成就。第三,就是现代的叙述手法。这个独特的写作风格在《老人与海》中得到了充分的体现,作者巧妙地转换叙述人称,将自己的主观态度和感情放在一旁,通过主人公的内心独白的意识流手法的叙述,客观精确地为读者展现出精彩的故事情节。
总的来说,《老人与海》是海明威独特写作风格的完美体现。

Introduction
      With the enlargement of exchange of culture in China, more and more films have been introduced into our country , which have gained preference of Chinese people .The film is a kind of popular medium ,which can be geared to people of different ages, cultural levels and careers. As one of the closest forms of art to our life, it pursues not only the realness of art, but also the authenticity of life. When we mention foreign films, many people would immediately go up, familiarly talking about those immortal classic works of world film history. Whether the scene of whole town turning out of Titanic released, or bustling of Harry Potter shown; whether Grieved romantic touching romance or thrilling Stimulating action, more and more foreign films were introduced to the Chinese market, so confronting so many films, the audience will certainly have to choose, what’s their selecting criterion? Needless questioned, the Chinese translation title at first glance will affect their choice to a large extent.
    Titles, as the soul of a movie, play the rule of concentrating theme and finishing touch.  "Titles as a translation of a translation category, it is necessary to follow the general principles and translation methods, but it is also an important part of film cultural exchange or even business and has its uniqueness of that. The quality of translation titles has a direct impact on the film cultural exchanges and business consequences "(何跃敏, 1997).
    However, due to the difference between Chinese and Western culture, how to give the Western film a wonderful appropriate Chinese title becomes the crucial factor of attracting audience and makes the box office profits. On the basis of describing the characteristics of film titles, this paper sums up the methods and techniques of current film title translation.
 
I. The characteristics of film titles
1.1 Source
    Understanding the source of film title with the original film is the precondition for understanding the film correctly. Specifically, most of the film titles are based on the story, background, theme, character, clues.
    ① Primary source of creation is based on the content of the story, summarizing the original films, acting as a window on the film title. Deep Impact, Kramma,《垂帘听政》,《秋菊打官司》belong to this category titles.
    ② The background that is significant for developing the plot , performancing the theme of the story and portraying the characters is also an important source of the title. Such as Titanic, Waterloo bridge, 《红高粱》,《林海雪原》,etc.
    ③ Many films are named after their outstanding themes, thought-provoking. Such as:As Good as It Gets, Indecent Proposal, Brave Heart,《人到中年》,《生命如歌 》,《疯狂的代价》.
    Some other films are named after film heroines, or having its name, or its characteristics. Such as Forest Gump, Mulan, the Lion King, Pretty Woman, 《牧马人》,《孩子王》,《 女篮5号》.
④ Part of the film titles are clues to the development of the stories, as a co-ordinate role. Such as: Schindler' List, Twister, Golden Eye,《一棵树》,《鸡毛信》.
1.2 Style
    The language style of film titles is concise, simple structure and the vivid use of metaphor.
1.3 Types
     The types of films can be divided into three categories. That is, documentaries, educational films and feature stories.
     The first two regard the transmission of information and the popularization of science as their main objectives, so the style is more down-to-earth, and the words elected are more official. Such as: 《漫步香山》,《 祖国新娘》,《激光》,One Survivor Remembers, Common Threads, Stories from the Quilt, etc.
     The title language of feature film is more vivid and lively, usually with strong emotion. Given the wide range of feature film and different characteristics, the author further divides it into four categories in accordance with its functions.
1.3.1 Thrilling category
It includes action films, disaster films, horror film, gangster films, spy films, crime films and others. Titles mainly aim to highlight the terrifying atmosphere. Such as《东港谍影》,《黑三角》, Die Hard, Mission Impossible.
1.3.2  Fantasy category
Most of them are science fiction films. The title often reveals the novel content of the film, attracting viewers for the purpose. Such as Deep Impact, Star Wars, Jurassic Park.
1.3.3 Comedy
The title itself contains strong flavor of comedy. Such as《不见不散》, 《傻冒经理》, 《瞧这一家子》, The Nutty Professor, Beverly Hills CopDoctor Do Little.
1.3.4 Lyrical category
 It includes romance, family ethics films, drama, music films, war films (mainly refers to the reflection of war films). Such title has the prose style, with strong lyrical language. Such as《巍巍昆仑》, 《哀乐中年》,《舞台姐妹》, Golden Pond.
